St. Genevieve's Pro-Life Ministry
The Gospel of life is at the heart of Jesus' message. Lovingly received day after day by the Church, it is to be preached with dauntless fidelity as "good news" to the people of every age and culture.

The Gospel of life is for the whole of human society. To be actively pro-life is to contribute to the renewal of society through the promotion of the common good. It is impossible to further the common good without acknowledging and defending the right to life, upon which all the other inalienable rights of individuals are founded and from which they develop. A society lacks solid foundations when, on the one hand, it asserts values such as the dignity of the person, justice and peace, but then, on the other hand, radically acts to the contrary by allowing or tolerating a variety of ways in which human life is devalued and violated, especially where it is weak or marginalized. Only respect for life can be the foundation and guarantee of the most precious and essential goods of society, such as democracy and peace.

Celebrating Life at St. Genevieve's

The St. Genevieve Pro-Life Ministry approaches Pro-Life issues through Public Information & Education, Pastoral Care and Public Policy Programs.
  • Public Information & Education Programs - One of the keys to stemming the tide of the Culture of Death is providing information to uncover the truth about life issues. St. Genevieve's Pro-Life Ministry provides literature & speakers, sponsors a Pro-Life flag display, sponsors a Pro-Life Poster and Essay Contest in our grammar school and helps facilitate Pro-Life Liturgies in our parish.
  • Pastoral Care Programs - Once someone chooses life, it is incumbent on people of faith to show support - not only with prayer, but with physical, spiritual & emotional support as well. With a prayerful spirit, St. Genevieve's Pro-Life Ministry helps facilitate Holy Hours for Life and Spiritual Adoption Programs. Real physical, spiritual and emotional aid are supported through the Annual Pro-Life Baby Shower, Project Rachel (on the Archdiocesan level) and the Gabriel Project.
  • Public Policy Programs - Our faith demands that we speak out in support of life. St. Genevieve's Pro-Life Ministry participates in the Annual March for Life in Washington, DC, petitions our legistators to support Pro-Life issues and participates in Prayerful Protests.
